Shirley Anne Claydon’s career in film and television has had a varied path including a diverse body of work. She has edited everything from television series and feature films to music videos and Emmy Award winning documentaries. After attending theatre arts school she worked in Ontario as an actor and artistic director in northern Ontario and Toronto, then moved into filmmaking through an interest in art and social issues. She studied film and visual art at Simon Fraser University’s Centre for the Arts with professors Jeff Wall and Kaja Silverman.
Ms Claydon is a an expert story teller. Her visual sensibilities and pacing skills enable her to use the visual images to enhance and bring out the stories and characters with finesse and grace.. Her dedication to the Canadian industry comes from her passion to tell original Canadian stories. She works as an editor, story editor, writer, director, producer, and teacher.
