Tracey’s Salmon N Bannock Recipe 

An interesting variation on traditional Bannock.

Serves 4


1. Mix Dry Ingredients

Measure flour, salt and baking powder into a large bowl. Make a well in the flour.

2. Add Water & Butter

Pour water and butter into the well. Squish with hands to get the lumps out, knead gently. Let rest for three minutes

3. Add Salmon

Gently fold in salmon and scallions. Make into a ball. Turn dough on a lightly floured surface, and knead gently about five times. Pat into a flat circle 3/4 to 1 inch thick.

4. Bake

Bake on a greased baking sheet at 350 degrees allowing about 15 minutes for each side.


All-Purpose Flour - 3 cups

Salt - 1 tsp

Baking Powder - 2 table spoons

Butter, Melted - 1/4 cup

Water - 1 3/4 cup

Wild Cooked Salmon, Chopped - 1 cup

Scallions, Chopped - 1/4 cup
